KAS Australia and the Pacific was pleased to welcome the German-Pacific Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Australian capital Canberra. The luncheon discussion on 'Democratic Resilience in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific' was co-hosted by the German Embassy and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES).

The KAS and FES representatives provided the group with an update on the status quo of democracy in this region. Their updates were followed by a lively discussion of current challenges to democracy and the broader security situation, defence cooperation, and immigration laws and policies.
