Following her 2025 Fact Finding Mission to New Zealand, KAS Australia and the Pacific's Director Sabina Woelkner was pleased to visit the Pacific Region for the first time. In Suva/Fiji, she was warmly welcomed and briefed by the (then) German Ambassador, HE Dr Andreas Prothmann. The briefing was complemented by meetings with the EU Delegation, the PIF Secretariat, the USP School of Economy, the USP School of Social Sciences, the UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji, and The Asia Foundation.
In Apia/Samoa, Mrs Woelkner was warmly welcomed and briefed by the German Honorary Consul, Stefan Szegedi Jr, and had the opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas with the Attorney General, the former Attorney General, the Samoa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Vice Chancellor and President of the National University of Samoa, and a journalist from the Samoa Observer.
