The SMART Youth Parliament 2026 programme, organised by the Secretariat of the House of Representatives with the support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Thailand Office, will begin with an opening ceremony and orientation session on 14 July 2026 at the Parliament Building. The programme aims to strengthen young people's understanding of democratic governance by introducing them to the legislative process, particularly parliamentary oversight of the executive branch through Model Parliament activities.
The orientation will bring together students from four participating schools and introduce them to the objectives and structure of the Model Parliament programme, which applies active learning through role-playing simulations of House of Representatives proceedings. During the session, participants attended lectures on the functions and powers of Parliament and parliamentary motions, and received educational materials to prepare for the upcoming Model Parliament competition.
SMART Youth Parliament 2026 seeks to provide young people with hands-on learning experiences to make parliamentary processes more accessible and engaging, fostering active citizenship while promoting greater public understanding of Thailand's democratic institutions.
