Last week, the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) commemorated its 20th Anniversary in conjunction with its 17th General Assembly, held in Banjul, The Gambia, under the theme “Heritage, Innovation and Transformation.”
The milestone gathering brought together public broadcasters, media leaders and strategic partners from across Africa and beyond. Key discussions focused on the sustainability of public service media, digital transformation, content exchange, and the importance of global cooperation in an evolving media environment.
KAS Media Africa was proud to actively support this important event by fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening international networks. Our engagement included facilitating the participation of Director Generals from Europe and Africa, reinforcing dialogue across regions and institutions.
As part of the programme, our Director, Hendrik Sittig, contributed to a panel discussion on the future of public service media, highlighting the pivotal role African broadcasters play within a rapidly changing global media landscape.
