The eighth local elections since the independence of the Republic of North Macedonia will be held on 19 October 2025. As submitters of lists of candidates for mayor and/or lists of candidates for council members, there are 6 coalitions and 26 political parties participating in these elections. Groups of voters have given support to 56 independent candidates for mayor and 67 independent candidate lists for council members.
The handbook provides an overview of the 2025 local elections, as well as the history of the country's local elections, the electoral system and the participants in the electoral process.
After the elections, a second, updated edition of this Handbook will be prepared, which will include the results, as well as information about the campaign and the election process as a whole.
The handbook is available in English and Macedonian language.
All previously prepared handbooks for presidential, parliamentary and local elections can be found on the Electoral Archives website.
