Clear path for Mirsiyoyev

The course set by the early presidential elections in Uzbekistan on July 9, 2023

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirsiyoyev has won the presidential elections in his country with a result of 87 per cent. These were early elections, which at the same time "annulled" the previous presidential terms. Mirsiyoyev could now theoretically run for another term as head of state in 2030. He has been in power in the Central Asian country since the death of the authoritarian long-term President Islam Karimov in 2017 and has opened Uzbekistan up to reforms.
