Workshop

Capacity Building for Parliamentary Officials – SMART Organisation and SMART Parliament with Generative AI

Workshop and Capacity Building

Parliamentary offices are required to function as learning organisations by continuously developing and utilising internal knowledge. This training program supports the Secretariat of the National Assembly (SNA) in becoming a SMART organisation by strengthening officials’ capacity to apply generative AI in their work.

Details

In response to rapid technological change around the world, particularly the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI, the Secretariat of the National Assembly (SNA), with the support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Thailand Office, is organising this training programme to strengthen officials’ knowledge and practical skills in using these tools to support parliamentary functions.

The programme builds on the AI training conducted in 2025 and earlier in 2026 in cooperation with KAS Thailand. This second programme in 2026 responds to the need for a deeper understanding of AI, with a particular focus on systematic prompt design and the wider use of AI at team and organisational levels.

The training aims to move beyond basic AI use towards more practical and strategic applications. Through hands-on workshops, participants will gain experience in using generative AI for a range of tasks, including data summarisation, document drafting, communication, and performance management. The programme will also focus on developing efficient and context-appropriate workflows, helping participants integrate AI into their daily responsibilities in a more structured and effective way.

The programme is expected to accommodate approximately 130 participants, including parliamentary executives, officials, employees, and observers.
