The Leaders for Justice program consists of two one-week worskhops, the first one to be held in Beirut, Lebanon from the 11th - 15th of June, 2024, and the second one in Berlin, Germany from the 24th - 28th of September, 2024.

What’s to expect?

Personal development skills are personal attributes, personality traits, social cues and other abilities that can be enhanced in a self-improvement process in order to reach personal (professional) goals. They are paramount for the individual professional, as well as social growth, especially when it comes to the legal community. Legal professionals are expected to tackle complex legal issues and to solve them in a timely and effective manner. It is a community built on knowledge, trust and care, and one that has the duty to serve, lead and to empower. In this context, problem-solving, interpersonal, organizational and other skills are critical.

Participants in the Leaders for Justice program will spend two weeks working on their professional skills. The program will include workshop sessions on creativity and working on a (personal) vision, team-leading and teamwork, communication skills, decision-making and change-management, all within the context of the rule of law.

You will learn from the knowledge and experience of international experts and guests, and share best practices in order to expand your professional horizons.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for bright young jurists, who are motivated, dedicated and believe in the rule of law; who want to build and strengthen their legal pathway in the Middle East.   

The application is open to Lebanese law students in the last year of their masters, postgraduate and PhD students, as well as young (max. 33 years old) legal professionals (judges, prosecutors, lawyers, notaries, legal councilors, jurists in NGOs or private sector, university lecturers, etc.) in the first five years of their career. Working knowledge in English and Arabic is required.

• a curriculum vitae (CV), preferably with a photo (no longer than 2 pages),
• a letter of motivation (not longer than 2 pages),
• a filled-out questionnaire form (see "Download" attachment).

The application process is as follows:

2. 01.03.2024 – 28.03.2024: pre-selection phase
3. 15.04.2024 – 30.04.2024: Interviews in person

Up to 12 applications will be selected. Successful applicants will be informed by the 10th of May. Women are explicitly encouraged to apply. It is worth noting that the program will be in English and Arabic, the two official languages of this program. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and the position may be filled before the deadline if a suitable candidate is identified. Applicants are therefore encouraged to apply early.

• We are communicating the dates of the workshops beforehand, so you can check and block your calendar ahead of time.
