Egypt’s Inheritance Law under Pressure

With the employment among women on the rise more and more Egyptian women call for a new interpretation of the inheritance regulations. The social changes make the gender-specific discrimination of the Islamic-Egyptian inheritance law even more evident and prompt calls for a reform. This discussion involving a broad social and political spectrum could be a starting point for sociopolitical reforms. (in German)
