A mechanism for integration in a geopolitically sensitiv area

The ongoing conflict in and around Ukraine has caused two, until recently, largely ignored international organizations to come into the public focus again: the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Council of Europe. While the OSCE was able to play an active role in mediating the conflict, the Council of Europe was caught in the crossfire.
