Workers' Compensation in the United States

Workers compensation continues to be a contentious political issue in many American states. Employers complain about the additional burden of ever-growing health care premiums, while unions try to tip the compromise balance of workers compensation in favor of the employees. Yet, in spite of this criticism, there is no fundamental doubt about this core element of the American social safety net. (Paper is in German)
