Iraq Leadership Fellows Program
The objectives of the project were to improve the fellows’ knowledge in leadership and how to adapt to different occurring challenges, provide the fellows with techniques and tools in leadership styles so each fellow can develop their own style, train fellows on the skills they need to launch grassroots political and social initiatives, intensively mentor and coach the fellows as they develop themselves, and build a network of young leaders throughout Iraq to enhance cross-regional and cross–sectarian cooperation.
The project hosted three training workshops in August, October and November 2021 respectively, where the fellows were divided into a social activists class and a political candidates class. It managed to develop the capacity of fellows in adaptive leadership, which is necessary in the current circumstances, increase knowledge in self-awareness in leadership and negotiation skills, improve skills in overcoming challenges in leading roles, enhance confidence and ability of fellows to shape their leadership style through the monitoring sessions with the trainers, and nurture a network of young leaders, through the active participation of the fellows.
