Besides keynote speaker Dr. Wolfgang Dierker, Mr. Arman Kashkinbekov (Deputy Director of the Kazakh Renewable Energy Association) and Mr. Ruslan Rakymbay (General Director of Primus Power) attended the conference.
At the center of debate had been Germany’s experiences with the Energiewende, the difficult market environment for renewable energies facing low oil and gas prices and the current challenges coming along with the expansion of RES, especially energy storage.
Moreover a panel discussion about the challenges and opportunities of RES in the context of energy policy questions was held under the moderation of Mr. Thomas Helm (Resident Representative of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Kazakhstan).
On the occasion, roughly 50 participants, among them energy experts, diplomatic corps and students from Nazarbayev University, had the chance to gain insights in the development potential of renewable energies in Kazakhstan.
