Master class «Free reporting and economic necessity – when will you be read?»

On 17th November, 2016 a master class was held in Almaty on the topic «Free reporting and economic necessity – when will you be read?», organized by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) in Kazakhstan and MediaNet International Centre for Journalism (ICJ).

Thomas Helm, Resident Representative of KAS in Kazakhstan, and Adil Jalilov, Director of MediaNet ICJ, greeted the participants of the master class. The key point of the event was the speech of Claus Dreckmann, Head of Culture & Salon Department at BUNTE magazine, on the theme «Free reporting and economic necessity – when will you be read?». Invited expert described the practical aspects of readability and monetization of journalism on the experience of German publishing houses. In addition, various ethical issues on the German experience were discussed as well.

The topic of the master class aroused big interest among the journalists, media correspondents, professors, marketers, freelancers, representatives of the private and non-governmental organizations, as well as students, which attended to the event.
