15th Minsk Forum
The Forum took place on 16-18 November in Minsk and was dedicated to the topic:
„Belarus, Germany and the EU: Eastern Partnership, Civil Society and Economic Relations“
Special attention during this year's forum was paid to the German-Belarusian relations and cooperation within the Eastern Partnership, the perspectives of reform processes in Belarus as well as the possibilities of cooperation between state and non-state actors in Belarus. The event gathered more than 300 diplomats, politicians, experts and representatives of non-governmental organizations from Belarus, Germany and other EU countries.
For the first time in history, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel and his Belarusian counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Makei adressed participants of the Forum and held keynote speeches on German-Belarusian relations and the possibilities of their development.
Organiser of The Minsk Forum XIV was the German-Belarusian Society (dbg e.V.). Cooperation partners in Germany are the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation.
The conference was held with the kind support of the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Minsk traditionally takes over the patronage of the conference.
