Strategies for a peaceful coexistence of ethnic groups

The important experiences of Kazakhstan in the field of peaceful coexistence of numerous ethnic groups in Kazakhstan can be very useful for other countries. Significant question is here – which strategies are necessary for a peaceful coexistence of ethnic groups.

The representatives of ministries, political parties, universities, research institutes and German politicians and experts met on the 18th of October on a conference, which was organized by the KAS-Office in Kazakhstan, the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan and the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy. The conference was opened by Member of Parliament Hartmut Koschyk, Minority Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Germany, Deputy minister of Foreign affairs, Roman Vassilenko, Ambassador of the Federal republic of Germany, H.E. Rolf Mafael, vice-chairman of Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan, Darkhan Mynbay, Deputy executive director, Sultan Aitzhanov and the Head of the Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) in Kazakhstan, Thomas Helm. At the conference the researches to the themes of coexistence of ethnic groups in Kazakhstan, of ethnopolicy and formation of Kazakhstani identity had been presented. The discussion focused on the questions of education, youth unemployment and the role of social media and their impacts to the integration.
