Training «Free information procurement» in Astana and Ust-Kamenogorsk

Resident Representative of KAS in Kazakhstan, Thomas Helm, opened the training with a welcoming speech in both cities. Claus Dreckmann, Head of «Culture&Salon» Department at BUNTE, a German expert invited by KAS in Kazakhstan, shared the basics of limitations and rights of access to information for journalists in Germany. After that, this topic was continued with the publication rights of certain information. Diana Okremova, Director of «Legal Media Center», and Gulmira Birzhanova, Lawyer of “Legal Media Center”, reviewed various components of «e-Government» and a number of laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan in areas such as access to information, public councils, considering certain legal cases.
The training was attended by journalists, NGO representatives, students studying journalism, independent bloggers and the audience had an opportunity to perform various practical and interactive tasks as well.
