Details

After meetings on security in multiethnic cities held in the South-West of Nigeria, Northern Kano City is selected as the next venue due to its importance as a multi-ethnic city with its fair share of insecurity, especially electoral violence as witnessed in 2011, and prevented in 2015. Issues like religion, ethnicity and demarcation of living areas along ethnic and religious lines, politics, trades and cultural differences that may impact on the security of Kano shall be discussed by Prof. Tajudeen Akanji, a peace and conflict expert from the Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ibadan, with other experts from Kano at this roundtable meeting.
