Details

Kaduna like Plateau State is located in the Middle Belt, and the state capital Kaduna is also divided along religious lines. Kaduna North is predominantly Muslim, while Kaduna South is mostly Christian and having a lot of “settlers” from the southern part of the country. The recent eruption of violence in Kaduna State is in particular worrisome. The 2011 general elections witnessed already brutal and deadly clashes between the youths and security agencies especially in the Northern part of Kaduna, and against the backdrop of the recent escalations KAS and NSCDC wish to prevent a reoccurrence of violence by sensitizing the stakeholders and security agencies on their duties towards guaranteeing violence-free elections in this town hall meeting.
