Facts and Findings

International Relations, Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, and Ideological Positioning

A July 2026 survey of 900 respondents shows that Kosovo’s citizens view Euro-Atlantic partnerships as essential amid growing international uncertainty. The US is the principal political partner for 88.5%, while 64.5% identify NATO as Kosovo’s strongest supporter since 1999. Citizens favour economic cooperation with the US and EU and caution towards Chinese investments. Trust in the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue remains limited, with respondents preferring strong US involvement and recognition as a condition for any agreement. Ideological labels remain unclear, but citizens support stronger state economic intervention, labour protections, gender equality, environmental protection and expanded state powers during periods of security threats.
