by Dr. Hubert Gehring, Tomislav Delinić

Tschechien - Der Spagat des Mirek Topolánek

The Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek (ODS) will not get through the summer break without thinking about his political situation. The 52year old head of government is confronted with a lot of problems. Most important for him is the continuity of the unsteady coalition. The hard coalition forming process after the election in the summer 2006 took nearly 6 months. Topolánek had already felt how hard the following months would be. In fact, since then the government had one problem after another. Only after a few months, ministers of the green coalition partner announced their resign from office.
