The Human Rights Training Course aims to broaden and deepen the debate for multiplying leaders, members of civil society organizations, students, and those interested in the topic to disseminate knowledge about human rights. The themes were debated in two classes per week, the first in an expositive way and the second is a more interactive way.

In the first class, the students were introduced to the general topic of Human Rights, since many of the participants had different backgrounds and, in some cases, had no prior knowledge about the subject. The class was taught by professor Maria Nazaré Lins Barbosa, who also refered to the situation of Human Rights in Brazil and its relationship with the Brazilian Rule of Law.

The second topic sought to establish a deeper understanding of the main economic indicators of social inequality. The class was given by Prof. Luiz Eduardo Garcia, who sought to illustrate the use of these indicators and their impact on our daily lives.

The third and last class of the course had the objective to discuss the main mechanisms to protect human rights and relate them to the main consequences of social inequality. The class was given by professor Eleonora Ceia, who presented some important cases of application of the mechanisms for the protection of Human Rights and enlightened the students about the importance of the dissemination of a human rights culture.

The course lasted three weeks and had the active participation from all regions of the country.
