Influence of the Media on Radicalization Processes among Young People

Together with the Franciscan Institute for the Culture of Peace and the Faculty of Croatian Studies of the University of Zagreb, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized on November 3rd, 2021 in Zagreb a conference on "Influence of the media on radicalization processes among young people". The representatives of the Faculty of Croatian Studies of the University of Zagreb, Prof. Balabić, Ph.D. and Prof. Labaš, Ph.D., the representative of the Agency for Electronic Media, Gavran, Ph.D., and head of the KAS office in Zagreb, Mr. Haibach, discussed the tasks of the Agency for Electronic Media, the importance of free speech in the media, the influence of hate speech, fake news and propaganda in radicalization processes in society, the changes in the new law on electronic media, the advantages and disadvantages of Social Media as well media literacy as a solution in the fight against radicalization of young people.
