Details

The German as well as the Chinese society are characterized by continuous change. This not only affects the ecological development in both countries but moreover has major impact in the demographical, economical and social sphere. Therefore new demands towards the agriculture and the food production arise. Efficient food supply and economic benefits has to be assured while guaranteeing the social attractiveness of the region. What is even more significant is to reduce environmental pollution.

Adjustments towards new structural, economical and ecological demands are therefore of major importance. Consistent legal requirements on food safety as well as efficient control methods have to be developed further.

The symposium will introduce perspectives for reform approaches and exchange conclusions in a Chinese-German dialogue. The symposium is part of a multi-annual cooperation of KAS with the German-Sino Institute of Legal Studies on reforms of China's economic system.
