About us
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation is a German political foundation affiliated with the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). Konrad Adenauer (1876–1967), after whom the Foundation is named, combined Christian-social, conservative and liberal traditions in his work as Germany’s first Federal Chancellor and one of the founders of the CDU. His name is associated with the democratic reconstruction of Germany and its integration into a community of nations sharing common transatlantic values, as well as with the idea of European unity and a commitment to the social market economy. The Foundation’s scholarship programme remains dedicated to preserving and developing this intellectual legacy.
Our aim
To encourage people to help shape the future in these traditions and to support young talent.
Through the work of more than 100 offices in 120 countries around the world, we contribute to the promotion of democracy, the rule of law and the social market economy. To safeguard peace and freedom, we foster ongoing dialogue on foreign and security policy, as well as on intercultural and interfaith relations. We aim to prepare young people to take on responsibility for decision-making in politics and the economy, in science and the media, and in the fields of culture and civil society. We regard our support for talented, high-achieving students as an investment in the future.
What we offer
For the 2026/2027 academic year, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation is offering scholarships to students at Ukrainian universities to fund their studies in Ukraine. The scholarship amounts to 180 euros per month, and the programme will run for 11 months.
Scholarship holders will be able to attend three accompanying educational seminars, the aim of which is to enhance students’ socio-political and specialist knowledge. In addition, scholarship holders will have the opportunity to take part in other Foundation events.
In our seminars, we promote interdisciplinary exchange, which is often not given sufficient attention in the educational process. Overall, the range of topics covers history, politics, economics and social studies.
