Caroline Hauptmann
Head of Finance
Caroline Hauptmann studied business administration in Wiesbaden and Spanish/environmental economics in Buenos Aires. She worked for many years in the private sector, including in marketing and product management. She has been working for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation since 2003, holding positions such as EU project officer, advisor for Southeast Asia/Latin America, advisor in the internal audit department, and head of finance. From 2021 to 2025, she headed the foundation’s country office in Senegal and Gambia and managed two large EU projects aimed at strengthening resilience against extremism in southeastern Senegal. Since July 2025, she has been leading the finance department at the foundation’s headquarters in Berlin. In addition to her focus on financial and project management, Caroline Hauptmann deals with issues of resource utilization and security, demographic change in West Africa, digitalization, and process management. The integration of women into security and leadership roles is a central concern for her.
