Dr. Kathrin Zehender
State Commissioner and Head of the Civic Education Forum Brandenburg
Kathrin Zehender, born in Heidelberg in 1983, studied political science, economic and social history and modern history in Mannheim. This was followed by a doctorate on the centrist and CDU politician Christine Teusch. After several years as a research assistant to various members of the European Parliament and the German Bundestag, she worked for the Commission for the History of Parliamentarism and Political Parties (KGParl) in Berlin. Here she was responsible for processing the minutes of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group meetings 1969-1972. From 2016-2025, she worked as a research officer in the Contemporary History Department of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin. Since 2025, she has headed the Civic Education Forum Brandenburg.
