Dr. Thomas Ehlen
Policy Advisor 'KommunalAkademie'
Born in 1965 in Rheinbach, Thomas Ehlen grew up in Bonn. As a scholarship holder of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Fulbright Commission, he studied History as well as Social and Educational Sciences in Bonn and at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. After a research stay at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and the completion of his doctorate, Ehlen assumed the position of Director of the Educational Institute in Osnabrück in 1993. From 1994 to 2000, he held a lectureship in American History at the University of Osnabrück. The father of three daughters and one son directed the Political Education Forum Hesse from November 2004 to September 2024. Since October 1, 2024, he has been working as a Policy Advisor at the Municipal Academy.
