Dr. Thomas S. Knirsch
Deputy Head of Civic Education and Head of Educational Management
Dr. Thomas Stuart Knirsch studied Political Science and earned his doctorate in Bonn with a dissertation on “Election Campaigns, Advertising, and Value Change.” His academic and published work has focused on the European Union, party systems, political communication, values and advertising, as well as international development, economic, security, and foreign policy. He has held teaching appointments in these areas, worked for the European Commission, and served as editor of a political magazine.In 1997, he joined the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, where he headed the Foundation’s country offices in Uganda, South Africa, Malaysia, Brazil, and Myanmar. He later oversaw the International Human Resources Department and served as Deputy Head of the Scholarship Program. Since March 1, 2022, he has been Deputy Head of Civic Education and Head of Educational Management.
