Today, on the 25th of July 2022, Tunisians are voting in a referendum to decide on whether to adopt a new constitution President Kais Saied published on the 30th of June. If adopted, the new constitution will change the country from its current hybrid parliamentary democracy to one giving the president extensive powers. What will a ‘yes’ vote of the Tunisian people mean, effectively?
