This year’s International Category of the Grundtvig Award by the European Adult Education Association (EAEA) was won by Pusat KOMAS for their “Education for Non-Discrimination” project, which is supported by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. The project focuses on raising the awareness about the impact of discrimination on people’s everyday behaviour, and thus, works to develop an educational resource for local community workers who want to address the issue of racism.

The EAEA, which is a European NGO with 130 member organisations from 41 countries, recognises the significance of the contributions made by Pusat KOMAS towards achieving intercultural dialogue in Malaysia.

Malaysia is a country that consists of many ethnic and religious groups, whereby tensions often exist between these different groups, especially in regards to the Muslim population that enjoys special privileges.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung congratulates Pusat KOMAS for winning this important award and is proud to be able to cooperate together successfully.
