Domestic Programmes Officer
Daniela-Maria Mariș has been an officer for Europe and North America in the Domestic Programmes Division, Department of European and International Cooperation, since September 2026. Prior to this, she worked as an officer in the Student Financial Support Unit, Department of Talent Development and Culture, from 2021.
She studied Communication Studies and Political Science, specialising in European integration in Central and Eastern Europe, in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Hanover, Chemnitz, Budapest (Hungary) and Leipzig. During her studies, she was a recipient of the International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) at the German Bundestag and at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Office for the Danube Strategy. After completing her studies, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Leipzig’s Institute of Political Science. Her expertise lies primarily in the field of Central and Eastern Europe, on which she conducts research and publishes, including works with Springer and Nomos publishers.
