Isabel Weininger
Head of the EIC Domestic Programs Department
Isabel Weininger has served as Head of the Department for International Dialogue Programmes in the Division for European and International Cooperation (EIZ) since September 2026. Since joining the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in 2017, she has held a range of positions in Germany and abroad. Her international assignments included serving as a trainee in Kyiv, Ukraine, and as Country Director in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. At KAS headquarters in Berlin, she worked as Desk Officer for Southeast Asia and Western Europe, International Human Resources Officer, and interim Head of the Asia-Pacific Department. Beyond her work with KAS, she gained additional international experience as Programme Director for Women and Youth Empowerment with the U.S.-based National Democratic Institute in Ramallah. Earlier in her career, she worked at the Munich Security Conference. Isabel Weininger studied Political Science, Public International Law, and International Relations in Munich, Paris, and Dresden, and is actively involved in promoting women’s participation in foreign and security policy through her voluntary work with WIIS.de.
