Marco Arndt

Dr. Marco Arndt has been head of the foreign offices for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, based in Prague, since September 2025. After studying history and German studies in Marburg, the historian, who holds a doctorate and is a former KAS scholarship holder, helped establish the Leipzig Educational Center from 1991 to 1995. This was followed by eight years as head of the Münster Educational Center and another seven years as head of the Dortmund Educational Center. In this role, Arndt was responsible for the educational work of the KAS in Westphalia and the Ruhr region. From 2011 to 2016, he served as a KAS foreign representative heading the office in Sofia, Bulgaria. The move abroad required him to resign from his seat on the city council of his hometown Drensteinfurt in southern Münsterland as well as from his position as chair of the local CDU chapter. After returning from Sofia, Arndt worked from 2016 to 2020 at the KAS Local Government Academy in Sankt Augustin. He then served as deputy chair of the KAS works council until June 2025. As a lieutenant colonel in the reserves, he is currently stationed at the State Command in Saxony. Arndt is married and has two sons and two daughters.
