Michael Borchard was born in 1967 in Munich. He studied Political Science, Modern History, and Public Law at the University of Bonn. From 1995 to 1997, he worked as a research associate at the Federal Archives, followed in 1998 by freelance work in the Political Department of the Federal Chancellery. From 1998 to 2003, he headed the division “Speeches, Text Documentation, and Questions of Social Change” in the Thuringian State Chancellery, where he was responsible for preparing speeches for Prime Minister Dr. Bernhard Vogel.In 2003, he became Head of the Domestic Policy Team in the Department of Politics and Consulting at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. From December 2003 to May 2014, he served as Head of the Department of Politics and Consulting at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. From July 2014 to September 2017, he was Head of the Foundation’s Office in Israel. Since October 2017, he has been Deputy Head of the Department of Academic Services / Archive for Christian-Democratic Policy (WD/ACDP) and Head of the Division of Contemporary History. As of July 1, 2018, he serves as Head of the Department of Academic Services / Archive for Christian-Democratic Policy.
