Dr. Oliver Salten

Since 2014, Dr. Oliver Salten has been working as a Policy Advisor in the Archive for Christian-Democratic Policy. In this role, he is responsible for the archival holdings of the CDU state associations of Hesse, Saxony, and Thuringia, as well as for the CDU in the Soviet Occupation Zone and the GDR and the Exile CDU. His research focuses on the CDU in the Soviet Occupation Zone and the GDR, historical election campaign studies, and visual history.Originally from Oldenburg, Oliver Salten studied History, Political Science, and Art History at the University of Bonn, where he also completed his doctorate.
