Petra Wachter joined the HA EIZ Domestic Programmes Department on 1 June 2019 as a desk officer for North Africa and Middle East and Climate and Energy Resources. Prior to that, Ms Wachter worked in the office of the Rule of Law Programme in Beirut, as a research assistant and office manager in the office of Dr. Johann Wadephul in the German Bundestag and headed the office of the EU Twinning-Phare project "Promotion of the autonomous social dialogue in Romania" in Bucharest. After studying law in Freiburg and Lyon, Ms Wachter completed her legal clerkship in Wiesbaden, Speyer and in the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
