Toni Michel joined the Europe/North America Division on 01 October 202 as Desk Officer for Western and Southern Europe before rotating to the Eastern Europe portfolio on 01 May 2023. Previously, he worked in the KAS representation in Kyiv, Ukraine in the context of the KAS traineeship programme. A graduate of Passau University for his bachelor's degree in "European Studies" and of Moscow State Institute of International Relations for his master's in "Politics and Economics in Eurasia", he worked for a Member of the European Parliament in the field of international trade for a number of years. Having moved to Kyiv in February 2018, Toni Michel first interned in the national parliament ("Verkhovna Rada") before filling a post as academic coordinator of the joint M.A. programme "German and European Studies" of Jena University and Kyiv Mohyla Academy.
