The KAS PolDiMed survey shows that citizens in the countries surveyed have rather low trust in political institutions such as parliament or political parties, but strong trust in civil society organizations and local religious institutions. Furthermore, trust in local and municipal authorities is relatively high in many countries, as is trust in institutions that are supposed to maintain law and order - especially the army.
