The world has previously experienced successive waves of what we today call globalization, all of which share certaincharacteristics with this latest development: the expansion of trade, the diffusion of technology, extensive migration, and the „cross-fertilization of diverse cultures“. Morerecently, however, globalization has been reinvigorated by at least three factors.
