A special highlight was the keynote lecture by Prof. Dr. Jörn Dosch, Professor of International Relations and Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Rostock, Germany. In his lecture, Dosch addressed the common challenges as well as possible cooperative solutions between Southeast Asia and Southeast Europe, thereby providing a key impetus for the subsequent discussions.
The summer school included several panel discussions that covered topics ranging from political and security-related issues, regional cooperation, migration, and the labor market to economic development and environmental questions. Under the guidance of scholars from both regions, current research findings were presented and interdisciplinary discussions were encouraged.
In conclusion, it became clear that the summer school had successfully fulfilled its mission, providing a platform for networking, interdisciplinary dialogue, and the promotion of international academic cooperation.
The KAS Croatia-Slovenia Office expressed its willingness to continue working with the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Zagreb on similar projects in the future, with the aim of promoting international exchange, strengthening interdisciplinary dialogue, and enhancing interregional networking—particularly in light of the large number of professionals from this world region working in Croatia. Such events are therefore of special importance for academic and professional cooperation in the region.
