Marian Wendt

Marian Wendt is currently preparing to take over as head of the Ramallah office, which covers the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza. Prior to that, he headed the Athens-based office for Greece and Cyprus from October 2022 to April 2026. A graduate in public administration (FH) and holder of a Master of Laws (LL.M.), he served as a member of the German Bundestag from 2013 to 2021. As a member of parliament, he served, among other roles, as a member of the Committee on Internal Affairs, Chair of the Committee on Petitions, and President of the THW-Bundesvereinigung e.V. His policy focus included issues of displacement/migration, civil protection, and digitalization. Wendt has also been active on behalf of the KAS at numerous events as a speaker and member of delegations. From 2010 to 2013, he served as a research assistant to Rep. Manfred Kolbe (CDU). In 2009, he completed an internship with U.S. Congressman Russ Carnahan in Washington, D.C. Marian Wendt is a trained THW volunteer and paramedic. He is a recipient of the Order of Knight of the Italian Republic.
