Michael Bauer

Michael Bauer has been Head of the KAS Country Office in Tunisia since September 2025. Before that, he headed the Country Office in Lebanon starting in August 2021. He previously worked for two years as a country desk officer in the Middle East and North Africa team at KAS headquarters in Berlin. In earlier professional positions, Michael Bauer worked as a freelance consultant for GIZ, the Bertelsmann Foundation, and other German and international clients in the MENA region. In addition, he was responsible for project management for a humanitarian aid organization operating in Syria’s neighboring countries and headed the Middle East Department at a university-based research and consulting institute in Munich.
