Veronika Ertl

Since November 1, 2025, Veronika Ertl is the Head of the Jordan Office. Previously, she served as Director of the Regional Program for Energy Security and Climate Change in the Middle East and North Africa, based in Morocco, and worked as Policy Officer for Development Policy in the Department for Analysis and Consulting. Ms. Ertl joined the Foundation in 2016 as a Research Associate in the Regional Program for Political Dialogue in the Southern Mediterranean, based in Tunis. Prior to that, she held positions at the GIZ program “Cooperation with Arab Donors” in Amman and at the German Orient-Institute / Near and Middle East Association. She studied Political Science and International Public Management at Freie Universität Berlin, the University of California Los Angeles, and Sciences Po Paris.
