To mark the fifth anniversary of the Konrad Adenauer Scholarship for Social and Innovative Development (KASSID), the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Thailand Office has published A Just State, A Sustainable Future: Young Voices on the Rule of Law, Democracy, and Social Transformation. This collection of articles provides a platform for young scholars to share their visions for the future, reflecting their commitment to contributing to social development.
At a time when the world faces increasingly complex challenges, including geopolitical uncertainty, economic and technological competition, growing social and economic inequalities, and environmental crises, questions surrounding justice, democracy and sustainable development have become more important than ever. Listening to perspectives from diverse groups, particularly the younger generation of scholars, is essential to shaping inclusive public policies that respond to the needs of society.
The publication brings together seven articles written by KASSID scholarship recipients from diverse academic disciplines. Their contributions address three key areas:
- Rule of Law and Democratic Governance
- Social and Economic Justice
- Governance in Times of Transition
Through these seven articles, the young scholars examine existing challenges, offer critical perspectives and present policy recommendations on a range of pressing social issues. Drawing on their respective academic backgrounds and areas of expertise, they seek to contribute to academic and public discourse while highlighting the importance of citizens' participation in shaping public policy.
The e-book edition of A Just State, A Sustainable Future is now available.
