The political significance of human rights as a primary component of global regulatory policy is increasing worldwide. Human rights work is one of the key tasks performed by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Germany and the throughout the world. In carrying out this task, KAS places emphasis on indirect promotion of human rights and attempts to initiate standardization processes and strengthen the impact of justice using various instruments. This commitment is documented in a new brochure which, based on the development of human rights in general, provides an overview of the institutions own activities. Seven project examples are used to highlight the international human rights work performed by the KAS. Furthermore, the brochure presents the contributions made towards exposing the human rights violations committed in the German Democratic Republic dictatorship.
