The website addresses journalists as well as media experts from the politics, universities and the non-profit sector.

Balkanmedia introduces the media landscapes of Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania and Serbia, together with latest media news from the region. Besides that, the website offers publications and analyses on media freedom, journalistic education and political communication as well a as compact calendar with media events. The online platform was implemented in cooperation with partner organisations of the Media Program South East Europe.

"We are working with a strong network of partner organisations. Through Balkanmedia we want to further strengthen our collaboration. The online platform is a cluster of different expert sources and enables the easy access to contributions of many organisations in the region, which are supporting free and independent media", stated Christian Spahr, head of KAS Media Program South East Europe, in Skopje.
