Salafists are on the rise in Egypt

For the last weeks, the Egyptian media has been reporting news about the rise of fundamentalist sects in Egypt. The conservative Islamists "Salafists", who were hardly heard of before the revolution, became very active immediately following the fall of Mubarak; protests are held, political demands are declared and violence acts are being reported.
