On 28 September 2019, Konrad Adenauer Foundation Thailand Office in a cooperation with the Secretariat of the National Assembly and the Committee on Courts Affairs, State Enterprises, Independent Organs, Public Organisations and the Fund of the Member of the House of Representatives held a seminar about the Role and Duty of the Committee in Ayudhaya Province with up to 200 participants from Bangkok, Ayudhaya and the vicinity.

The Civic Education Forum in Tanzania (CETA) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organised a joint workshop in Kasulu, Kigoma region on 27 and 28 September 2019. The theme of the event was “Social Market Economy as a Gateway to Entrepreneurship”. More than 600 students ― from secondary schools and higher learning institutions as well as universities students from Kasulu and from outside Kasulu attended.

In light of the changes and challenges in North Africa, the European Union has been forced to rethink its approach towards the region. While Tunisia is the only North African country engaged in DCFTA negotiations with the EU, it appears as if the traditional instruments of the EU are not effectively responding to the current economic and political setup in the region and leave expectations on both shores of the Mediterranean unfulfilled.

Im Gegenteil: Ein wohlverstandener Sinn für Heimat und Patriotismus vermag gerade in diesen Zeiten ausgleichend und mäßigend wirken – sowie den Blick dafür schärfen, was für den Zusammenhalt wirklich wichtig ist.

In the area of digital innovation, Germany can learn a lot from Asia. In September, a delegation of twelve Asian innovation experts visited Berlin. They had a clear message: Whoever wants to shape the future in his or her own interests must actively promote innovation and be open to change. In both areas, Germany still has some catching up to do.
